The Highlands of Scotland near loch lochy was the destination for the International Spiritualist Federation’s Scottish get together, reports Nicky Beckitt from England.
On arrival the views over the lochs and glens were breathtaking, and the wonderful surroundings set the tone for the weekend's learning and sharing.
The accommodation, a youth hostel, however was not what we the students had expected.
The event was organised by Sandra McFadden of the Scottish Spiritualists Federation.
Even though the amenities were very basic - a bed and running water - the camaraderie that built up with students and tutors, as we all mucked in together, lifted all above such mundane matters.
The ISF President Ann Luck and committee member Pat Campbell shared the wealth of their knowledge with members of the Scottish Spiritualist Federation and other guests.
During the fun two Polish backpackers wandered in seeking shelter from the rain and joined in the evening's workshop, a table tilting experiment. By the end of the night they asked if they could join the ISF to participate in future events and membership forms were issued there and then!
So great was the appreciation by the students of the tutors, that they have been asked back for more of the same in April 2009.
